TAMWORTH’S ORGANIC WASTE BOOST

The way Tamworth residents recycle their organic waste is set to change, after council received more than $500,000 from the state government.
The funds will be used to expand kerbside waste collections to include green bins.
“Half of all household waste is organic waste and 30 per cent of all waste that’s going to landfill is organic waste.”
The upgrades will coincide with council’s new organic waste facility, which should be up-and-running by the middle of next year.
