POLICE INJURED DURING PORT MACQUARIE DOMESTIC DISPUTE
Two police have been injured during a domestic incident on the mid north coast today.
Around 7 o’clock this morning, a 21-year-old man and a 17-year-old girl became involved in a domestic altercation at their home on Hollingsworth Street in Port Macquarie.
Police attended the scene and separated the parties in the backyard.
The girl then allegedly hit a female senior constable with a cast iron decorative garden wheel.
A male senior constable was also allegedly bitten on the forearm by the 17-year-old female. The pair were brought under control and arrested.
Among other charges, the 17-year-old girl was charged with wounding a police officer executing duty, resisting arrest, and malicious damage, while the man was charged with hindering police, and resisting arrest.
The female officer required stitches on her forearm, while the male officer was treated for a puncture wound to his arm.
