A 22-year-old man from Swansea has appeared in court over a car theft and police pursuit earlier this week.
Police allege that on Thursday, an Audi Q5 was stolen in Belmont and later used in an aggravated break and enter at Fletcher in Newcastle.
The Audi was then involved in a police pursuit in Windale. The pursuit was later terminated, and the car was found abandoned at Tingira Heights.
Then around 6pm yesterday police were patrolling in Windale, when they stopped a Holden Astra and arrested the passenger.
Police further allege they located a knife, a small amount of cannabis and two cards suspected of being stolen during a search of the man.
He was charged with numerous offences including Skye’s Law, and driving without a licence.
