- Seven people, including a child, have been taken to hospital after a gas explosion ripped through a food court in Sydney’s busy Chinatown district. The force of the blast, which was caused by a gas leak, blew out a roller-door, sending metal flying.
- There’s been a major victory for the Turnbull Government. The plan to restore the building industry watchdog is now on track, after the Senate passed the much amended legislation this morning.
- Three days of national mourning has been declared in Brazil after one of the country’s top soccer teams was virtually wiped out in a horrific plane crash in Colombia. 75 people were killed in the crash.
- A fisherman has reeled in a group of thankful schoolies, who were stuck on a flotilla off Phillip Island. The group was stranded after blowing almost half a kilometre from shore in two pink inflatable flamingoes, a dinosaur and a unicorn.
