The Baird Government will pour another $600,000 into the dredging of Swansea Channel before Christmas.
It will see a total of more than $3-million spent on the job over the past two years.
Strong tidal currents relentlessly shift the sand, causing shoaling in parts of the channel.
The work is necessary to maintain a safe depth for larger craft, and is due to begin in the coming weeks.
Further dredging is scheduled for after the summer holidays.
