SPARK GONE OUT FOR UP TO 600 WORKERS

Essential Energy has been given the green light to axe, up to 600 jobs across regional New South Wales following a ruling by the Fair Work Commission.
The decision came following this year’s Essential Energy Workplace Determination.
The commission also rejected a submission from power unions that no redundancies occur before the Christmas period, allowing Essential Energy to move on redundancies within weeks.
An Essential Energy spokesperson says Fair Work’s decision gives the company “greater flexibility” in reforming its business in response to “a rapidly evolving energy sector.”
