Former world champion Mark Occhilupo and son Jay are travelling through the region, on a surfing road-trip.
The pair caught a few waves at Broken Head late yesterday afternoon, before continuing their journey south this morning..
“We’ve got to enjoy our beautiful ocean and that’s what we’re here for.”
“We’re lucky enough to have swell on this road trip and we’re loving it, there’s not a soul out there today.”
Organised by the NRMA – the road-trip aims to promote little-known coastal tourism spots along the Gold and Far North Coasts.
The duo will head to Coffs Harbour tomorrow.
