An unnamed road in Tamworth could soon become something of a tourist attraction.
Locals put forward a submission to Tamworth Regional Council to have this quiet lane off Upper Moore Creek Road named ‘Drop Bear Lane’.
Council last night gave the proposal the green light, after checking it against the Geographical Names Board Criteria.
Drop Bears are a mythical Australian animal, made famous by pop culture and fireside stories.
The proposal will go under Public Exhibition before given full approval.
