DRIVER WITH THREE CHILD PASSENGERS CHARGED WITH MID-RANGE DRINK DRIVING
A woman with three children in the car has blown nearly twice the legal blood-alcohol limit, after she was stopped for allegedly speeding near Cessnock late last week.
Around 3.30pm on Friday, police detected a vehicle allegedly travelling at 135km/h in an 80km/h zone on Ellalong Road, Ellalong.
The 32-year-old female driver was stopped and police conducted a roadside breath test which returned a positive result. The woman had three children – two aged seven, and one aged five – in the car at the time.
She was taken to Cessnock Police Station, where she allegedly returned a blood analysis reading of 0.097.
The driver was issued with a court attendance notice for mid-range drink-driving, and for exceeding the speed limit by more than 45km/h.
