HEAD-ON COLLISION CLAIMS THE LIFE OF A DRIVER NEAR SINGLETON

A two-vehicle crash on the New England Highway has claimed the life of a 26-year-old male near Singleton yesterday.

Shortly after 2pm, emergency services responded to reports of a crash on the New England Highway, Whittingham.

On arrival, they found that a Hyundai iload had collided with a Ford Ranger utility, with the Ford rolling onto its side after the crash.

The 26-year-old Victorian man driving the iload was trapped in the vehicle for a period of time, before being released. He later died of his injuries.

A passenger of the iload, a 23-year-old woman, was taken to hospital with tissue damage and bruising.

The 22-year-old male driver of the Ford Ranger is in a stable condition after undergoing surgery for abdominal injuries.
