The concept design and environmental impact statement for what’s come to be known as the missing link in the Newcastle Inner City By-Pass has gone on public display.
It’s a three and a half kilometre, dual-lane each way, by-pass leaving Lookout Road at Rankin Park, skirting bushland to the west of the John Hunter Hospital and linking back in at the Jesmond interchange.
The plan involves several bridges, pedestrian and wildlife underpasses.
The RMS will hold public drop in sessions in coming weeks.
