ROW CONTINUES OVER WEST BANK ROAD

Residents calling for West Bank Road near Chaffey Dam to remain open have lodged a petition with state MP Kevin Anderson.

The road has been identified as a potential flood zone, due to the multi-million dollar upgrade of Chaffey Dam.

Residents want council and the Office of State Water to pay for upgrades to the road, so it can remain open.

But Tamworth Mayor Col Murray says the state government should be footing the bill.

Mr Anderson says he’s also taken the issue to Water Minister, Niall Blair.
