ARMIDALE REGIONAL COUNCIL TO RETAIN NAME
Armidale Regional Council will retain its name following its amalgamation with Guyra Shire Council.
The Department of Local Government conducted a phone poll in the region, which indicated 57 per cent of respondents wanted to remain under the title of ‘Armidale.’
Member for Northern Tablelands, Adam Marshall had proposed a change to ‘Central New England Council,’ following his own independent survey of the local electorate.
