PAIR APPEAR IN COURT AFTER ROBBING A STORE IN GREENHILL
Two men have appeared in court after allegedly holding up a store and assaulting police on the mid-north coast.
Around 3:30pm yesterday, two men armed with knives entered a store on River Street in Greenhill, about 5km west of Kempsey.
Police allege the pair threatened staff, before fleeing the scene with cash, cigarettes, and a mobile phone.
Police initiated a search, and the two men, aged 19 and 28, were located nearby and arrested, before being taken to Kempsey Police Station.
Once at the station, police further allege that the older man kicked two officers.
The younger man was charged with aggravated armed robbery. The older was charged with aggravated armed robbery, assaulting police, and malicious damage.
