MAN ARRESTED OVER ARMED ROBBERY IN MORISSET
A man has been arrested, over the armed robbery of a chemist in Morisset this morning.
Police were called to the Dora Street business around 9:30am, to reports a man was armed with a replica gun and demanding money.
When confronted, the 49-year-old man allegedly threatened police, before being tasered and taken to hospital for assessment.
During their investigations officers discovered a suspicious object inside the store.
The street was cordoned off and nearby businesses evacuated while the bomb squad was called in to examine the item.
It was later deemed safe and the area was re-opened.
