Electing to bat – the side scored 123 off 38 overs, despite openers Mitch Pearce and Cameron Palmer falling cheaply.
Jason Caught then led a fiery bowling attack, taking 4 for 17.
Top scorer Nick Watson notched up 37 for the Bears, who fell 7 runs short of victory.
Elsewhere, Tintenbar-East Ballina also lost narrowly,
Marist Brothers beat Pottsville and Lennox Head got the better of Casino.
