$100,000 FUNDING TO HELP HUNTER FLYING FOX PROBLEM

Hunter Councils Incorporated has been granted $100,000 from the state government to introduce a community engagement program, aimed at helping with the region’s flying fox problem.

It will provide locals with useful tips on how to live in harmony with the seasonal visitors.

“There’s no point in moving on flying foxes in one park, cause we know they’re just going to move across to the next council boundary. Flying foxes don’t respect council boundaries of course,” said Parliamentary Secretary for the Hunter, Scot MacDonald.
