The redevelopment of the Armidale Rural Referral Hospital underway, with officials estimating the building will be complete by the end of next year.
The new facility will include a refurbished critical care unit and emergency ward.
“What it will do is it will continue to provide the specialist services it provides here everyday, all day, but will also provide those services for the whole region.”
The upgrade is part of a $60-million investment by the state government.
