RIO OLYMPIAN TO SPEAK AT TAMWORTH SPORTS AWARDS

A Rio olympian will be in Tamworth later this month for the city’s sports awards.

Central Coast kayaker Lachlan Tame has been named as the event’s special guest.

The 27-year-old won a bronze medal in the K2 one-thousand metre event with partner Ken Wallace and will speak about his olympic experience at the awards night.

65 people have been nominated for this year’s sports awards – more than double in 2015.

The winners will be announced on November 25.
