Police are appealing for public assistance after a young girl was approached by an unknown man near Port Macquarie on Thursday.
It is understood the 10-year-old was walking in Lake Cathie around 3pm, when a man in a white car spoke to the girl and returned a second time.
The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 50-years-old, with short grey and white hair, and short beard.
