- Tributes are flowing in for four people killed in a freak accident at Dreamworld on the Gold Coast. Kate Goodchild, her brother Luke Dorsett, his partner Roozi Araghi and a New Zealand woman were killed when one of the rafts on the Thunder River Rapids ride – overturned on a conveyer belt yesterday.
- Hawaii’s John John Florence has been crowned the 2016 surfing world champion.
- And a Russian base jumper has leapt into thin air from the sixth highest peak in the world.
