TRIO CHARGED AFTER ALLEGEDLY DETAINING MAN
Three men have been charged after they allegedly detained a 25-year-old man for 17 hours while threatening him with a firearm in the state’s north west.
At about 8am on October 22, the man went to a house in Brand Street in Moree, to meet with a 30-year-old man who is known to him.
Once inside the house, the man was allegedly detained by the trio for 17 hours.
He left the house at 1.30am on Sunday and contacted police.
Later that day police executed a search warrant and allegedly located two unregistered .22 calibre rifles, methamphetamine, and cannabis, and other drug paraphernalia.
A 16, 37 and 30 year-old were arrested and charged with a variety of offences including, possessing an unregistered firearm and detaining with intent for advantage.
They’ll face court in December.
