CAMPAIGN TO SAVE DOROTHY’S RUBY SLIPPERS
A public campaign has been launched to restore a piece of Hollywood history – Dorothy’s Ruby slippers from ‘The Wizard of Oz’.
The shoes from the 1939 musical, on display at the Smithsonian Museum in the US, are badly frayed and have lost their ruby shine.
The Museum hopes to raise $300,000 to repair the shoes and build a display case which will preserve them for generations.
