Port Stephens Police are preparing for a major fundraiser in honour of highway patrol officer, Sergeant Geoffrey Richardson, who died in the line of duty earlier this year.
Bidding has begun online for nine items, including a signed Wallabies World Cup jersey, and an autographed guitar from country music star Lee Kernaghan.
The auction will stay open until Friday, with the items to be awarded that night at the Richo’s Rugby Ball in Nelson Bay.
All proceeds will go to Sergeant Richardson’s family.
