MUSWELLBROOK MAN AIRLIFTED AFTER DEATH ADDER SNAKE BITE

A 48 year old man has been airlifted to Newcastle after an encounter with a death adder snake in the Upper Hunter.
Just before three this afternoon paramedics were called to a Muswellbrook home, following reports the man had been bitten below the knee while in his shed.
He was initially taken by ambulance to Scone Hospital where he was treated with anti-venom, before being flown to the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Base in Broadmeadow.
He was then transported by ambulance to the Mater Calvary Hospital.
