COFFS HARBOUR PURSUIT ENDS IN TWO ARRESTS

A firearm and drugs were allegedly thrown from a vehicle during a police pursuit on the mid north coast today.

Around 9 o’clock this morning, police recognsied a man wanted on two outstanding warrants sitting in a black Lexus on Kiddel Place, Coffs Harbour.

The vehicle failed to stop when directed, and a pursuit was intiated.

The driver then collided with a police vehicle at the intersection of Arthur Street and Richmond Drive, before driving into a public reserve and hitting a second police vehicle.

Police allege during the pursuit a firearm and drugs, suspected of being methamphetamine, were thrown from the vehicle. These were subsequently recovered.

The 36-year-old male driver and a 33-year-old male passenger were arrested at the scene.

A search of the vehicle allegedly located methamphetamine, cocaine, ecstasy, and cannabis.

The men are assisting police with inquiries.

  1. It is not right that u phrase the last sentence the way u hav wen obviously the driver was not cooperating with police. If he would go to such trouble to avoid the police, later arrested (obviously against his will) y would he assist police with any investigation.?
    Do u people realise the risk statements like this put “criminals” at?… Obviously not.
