Footage has surfaced of a 12-metre humpback whale, caught in fish trap lines off Port Stephens.
The video, filmed by a cruise boat near Cabbage Tree Island this morning, shows the giant mammal rolling in an apparent attempt to free itself.
Witnesses say the whale was trapped for about 20 minutes, before it thankfully managed to swim away.
