PISTOL DISCOVERED DURING SEARCH ON THE CENTRAL COAST
A man has appeared in court after being stopped while allegedly carrying a pistol on the Central Coast yesterday.
Around 3:30am on Friday, police approached a vehicle in the car park of a business at the intersection of the Central Coast Highway and Avoca Drive in Erina.
A search of the 64-year-old driver resulted in the seizure of a loaded .22 calibre revolver, ammunition, and an extendable baton.
The vehicle was also searched, which allegedly revealed two machetes.
The driver and his 39-year-old passenger were arrested.
Amongst other charges, the 64-year-old was charged with possessing a loaded firearm in public place.
The younger man was released pending further inquiries.
