Upgrade work has commenced at Taree Airport, with both airside and runway improvements underway.
The $700,000 project is funded by both the state government and MidCoast Council, and is expected to support up to an additional 8,000 visitors each year.
“The upgrade is going to include the extension of the apron, some PAPI landing lights, we’re going to have an information bay in the terminal for when passengers arrive to the area.”
Taree’s airport provides three flights daily to and from Sydney.
