A rescue is underway off the coast of Port Macquarie for a super yacht which is in distress.
The 37 metre Masteka 2, activated its emergency beacons this morning – reporting it had had begun taking on water and had lost its steering.
The Australian Maritime Safety Authority launched a rescue operation – tasking the Carnival Spirit Cruise Ship to help rescue two people from the yacht.
Four remaining crew remain onboard assisting with repairs.
Carnival Spirit will remain on scene to monitor the vessel and provide further assistance as required.
