Lismore lost a woman considered a true inspiration over the weekend.
Jodie McRae was an irrepressible campaigner for cancer research, whose work was recognised locally and at state levels.
She was the founder of Jodie’s Inspiration, a charity which has raised more than $100,000 for Northern Rivers cancer wards.
The organisation shared the sad news of her passing over social media.
Messages of support flowing through for the 43-year-old, who was diagnosed with a rare incurable form of breast cancer in 2013.
Ms McRae is survived by her two children.
