The weather wasn’t exactly ideal, but that didn’t stop people turning out for Fort Scratchley’s Open Day.
While three are held each year, this was the first chance for members of the public to see the restored Bofor gun.
“There’s been well over 1000 people come through the gates today. Given these conditions I think that’s pretty good. And we’ll probably get another 3 or 4 hundred by the 3 o’clock firing.”
Today’s event also recognised the efforts of emergency services in the region.
