Walcha Council has bestowed the top job to a newcomer, electing Eric Noakes as the region’s new Mayor.
The farmer and father of three is excited by the new prospects council will provide.
“It’s a bit daunting first time in, but I’ve got a great council behind me and great staff in the office and I believe I can do it with the help of them.”
Joining him at the helm as deputy, councillor Clint Lyon, commencing his second term in office.
Mayor Noakes was one of five new councillors elected.
