MORE SUPPLIES NEEDED TO SUPPORT DOMESTIC VIOLENCE VICTIMS

An appeal for help on social media has proved successful for a Hunter domestic violence support service.
Carrie’s Place has been inundated with groceries, after putting a call out earlier this week.
But CEO Jan McDonald says they’re still in need of more, especially items which are easy to prepare.
“That is mainly because we’re heading into a difficult season of Christmas and there’s an even higher need and there’s even sadly more people who may well be transient and potentially either homeless or at serious risk of homelessness,” said Ms McDonald.
