Double demerits will kick into gear from midnight tonight, with police warning motorists on the Mid North Coast to drive safely this long weekend.
Operation Slowdown is in place until Monday night and will target speeding, alcohol and fatigue.
“Over 23% of the crashes this year have been fatigue related, 43% have been speed related, so it’s important people make sure they have plenty of time to travel, they’re not tired and make use of the driver reviver stops.”
