BUNNINGS KEEN ON PASMINCO SITE

The hardware war has produced a coup for the old Pasminco site at Boolaroo, with a $13.3-million DA lodged with Lake Macquarie Council for a Bunnings warehouse.

It’s the first major project planned for the 200-hectare site, which is still undergoing work to remove contaminated soil.

Administrators Ferrier Hodgson are planning for about 800 houses, light industry, commercial projects, warehouses and conservation areas.

  1. I can’t believe they are even thinking of building on this site. As if the contamination of lead will clear in such a short time, it remains a ses pit and scary that they will let children grow up around it. Also, why waste millions on another bunnings when there is one at Glendale in next suburb, just stupid.

  2. Jess, industrial or retail use would seal the surface with concete and asphalt , also Bunnings are going to close the Glenade store , the staff will be transferred to the new one being built on Minmi Road Wallsend , btw its cesspit
