A house has been destroyed by fire in the Hunter Valley.
The house at Sandy Creek on the New England Highway went up in flames around 11.30 this morning.
There were several people, including children, inside the burning weatherboard and iron home, but all managed to get out safely. A dog was rescued from the rear of the house.
It’s believed the fire may have ignited in an air conditioning unit.
Fire and Rescue are still on the scene.
