NEW PARTNERSHIPS TO FAST-TRACK HOSPITAL REDEVELOPMENTS
The New South Wales Health Minister has announced plans to enter into public-private partnerships, to fast-track the new $400-million Maitland Hospital and $200-million Wyong Hospital redevelopment.
The Baird Government has invited expressions of interest from private hospital operators.
“Public patients admitted to hospitals will have their care provided free of charge, just as they do now in any public hospital,” said NSW Health Minister Jillian Skinner.
The Shadow Health Minister has called on the government to guarantee public patients won’t be treated as second class citizens.
