Preference counting has confirmed Councillor David Wright will remain Mayor of Ballina. for another term

A council stalwart – Wright received over 9,900 votes compared to closest rival Jeff Johnson’s 8,700.

Meanwhile, Councillor Isaac Smith looks to be Lismore’s next mayor.

Despite counting continuing, Smith’s taken to social media, telling followers ‘The wait is over. We did it!’

Smith’s thought to have edged out conservative rivals Greg Bennett and Neil Marks.
