It remains one of the country’s biggest aviation mysteries, but a new three-day search for a light plane that went missing over Barrington Tops 35 years ago, will provide renewed hope this weekend.
The search will be undertaken by the Bushwalkers Wilderness Rescue Squad and will focus on the Gloucester Tops area for the first time.
“I’m feeling great but you know the best part is if we get a result, if these bushwalkers get a result, it would be great for the families wouldn’t it.”
The bodies of the five men on board have never been recovered and the wreckage never found.
