After a long battle for improved air quality in their suburb, Rutherford residents now appear to be breathing a little easier – according to the EPA.
The watchdog’s latest report shows a significant drop in complaints over odour issues from the suburb’s industrial estate.
It follows a program of licence suspensions and increased surveillance.
The study coincides with the separate, Department of Planning approval, for the expansion and improvement of a local waste oil treatment plant.
