FIRE RIPS THROUGH POLICE HOLDING YARD
A Newcastle police holding yard has become an emergency scene, with a fire breaking out in a warehouse.
The warehouse blaze began on the corner of Railway and Greenway Street in Wickham at about 1.30pm.
A thick plume of black smoke could be seen across the suburb, as about 30 firefighters from Fire and Rescue NSW work to extinguish the blaze.
There’s no sign of a break in.
