Investigators say they’re close to tracking down those responsible for dumping several truckloads of construction waste in bushland at Kurri Kurri and Ryhope last month.
Documents, found in the piles of rubble, have been used to trace the waste back to Sydney building sites.
“We’ve been talking to those builders and it seems they use a small number of contractors to dispose of their waste, so we’re following that evidence to see where it goes.”
If convicted, the dumpers could face fines of up to $1-million.
