Round one of the Surfing Groms Comp wrapped up today, in one to two-foot waves at Macauleys Beach.
After a strong start to the competition, local surfer Hunter Winker struggled to find the waves he needed in the under 12 boys semi-final.
“It was a bit unfortunate to see him pull out but that was a pretty awesome heat to watch and I dare say he had his work cut out for him with some of the performances the other guys put on,” Surfing NSW’s Ethan Hyde said.
The nine-round series will now head to Sydney’s Northern Beaches.
