ALLEGED DRUNK DRIVER CRASHES CAR ON HIGHWAY
Police allege a driver, who crashed his car near Coffs Harbour, had a blood alcohol reading more than five times the legal limit.
The 30-year-old man’s car was extensively damaged when he lost control on the Pacific Highway at Sapphire at around 9pm last night, and hit a barrier fence.
Police say they’d been alerted to a car being driven erratically and without its headlights on.
Officers allege, after failing a roadside breath test, the man returned a reading of .261 at the police station… and was also found to have a cancelled licence.
