DIGITAL RADIOS THE NEXT STEP FORWARD

Mid North Coast surf life savers will have the latest in radio technology at their fingertips, just in time for summer.
Inspector, Darren Jameson says the $10, 800 worth of digital equipment, funded by the state government, will provide various benefits.
“Including GPS tracking as well as signature transmission, so if it’s being used by a certain club, that information is transmitted to the Surf Life Saving surf comp centre.”
North Coast vice president, Paul Ninness says it will make the volunteers lives just that little bit easier.
“The signal is going to be more consistent, strong… Which is great from a communications perspective.”
The walkie talkies will also be shared with other patrols, for emergencies.
