VEHICLE COLLISION ON THE CENTRAL COAST ENDS IN FATALITY
A woman in her 60’s has died after her car collided with another vehicle on the Central Coast this morning.
The crash occured at the intersection of the Pacific Highway and Dwyer Street in North Gosford just after 6 o’clock.
The woman – a 62-year-old – was trapped in a Mitsubishi Mirage for about 15 minutes until officers from Fire & Rescue NSW were able to free her.
She was treated at the scene, before being taken to hospital. She later died of her injuries.
Two women travelling in the other vehicle – a Commodore – were also taken to hospital as a precaution. The 20-year-old female driver underwent mandatory blood and urine tests.
She has since been charged with dangerous driving occasioning death, negligent driving occasioning death, and driving while suspended.
She was refused bail and will appear in court tomorrow.
