FIREARMS AND DRUGS SEIZED DURING STRIKE FORCE BURRIL
Established to investigate the alleged manufacture and supply of prohibited drugs, Strike Force Burril has yielded drugs, firearms and chemicals in the State’s New England region since May this year.
The strike force has resulted in numerous charges being laid, including:
– A 44-year-old man being charged with manufacturing a prohibited drug in a commercial quantity after a search warrant was executed at a house on Arnold Street in Spring Ridge just before 1pm on Wednesday.
– A 23-year-old man charged with a number of offences, including possessing a shortened firearm, and possessing an unauthorised prohibited firearm, after police allegedly located five firearms and ammunition during a search of a property on Brewongle Road, Quirindi.
– A 51-year-old charged with numerous drug and firearm offences after police allegedly seized revolvers, a shotgun, a hand grenade, ammunition, railway detonators and cannabis during a search of a property at Seventh Street, Boolaroo on Wednesday .
– A 45-year-old man being charged with numerous drug offences after police searched a premises on Farm Road, Dapto where they allegedly seized cannabis, firearms, a silencer and ammunition just after 4pm on Thursday.
Investigations are ongoing.
