- A Sydney man convicted of helping seven men fight for Islamic State in Syria has been jailed. 42-year-old Hamdi Alqudsi cried in a Sydney court this morning as he was sentenced to at least six years in jail.
- The Prime Minister has announced plans for new legislation making it easier and quicker for our defence force to authorise air strikes in conflict zones like the Middle East.
- Three people are waiting to face court in Brisbane today – charged over the death of Queensland woman, Sabrina Bremer. Ms Bremer’s burnt body was found on the side of a road at Tweed Heads around two weeks ago.
- To sport, and Aussie James Duckworth has been edged out by Jo Wilfred Tsonga in the second round of the US Open – going down in four sets.
- Quade Cooper has signed a three year deal with the Queensland Reds.
- And Prince Harry has turned crocodile hunter, helping to rescue a four-metre croc during a conservation trip in Africa.
