Wednesday, August the 31st is Meals on Wheels Day and one of the Mid North Coast’s local branches is celebrating by branching out.
Volunteers from the Sawtell division setting up shop at Toormina Gardens, encouraging anyone over the age of 65 to take a look at what’s on offer through the service.
“We’re passing on the information and vouchers for free meals today, just to come and have a sample and show them how lovely our meals are, cooked fresh, from as much local produce as we can.”
The organisation delivers to more than 140, 000 meals each year and employs close to 1,000 staff and volunteers.
